The third night's play of the 2024 Premier League Darts will take place on Thursday evening. Not an easy evening for Michael van Gerwen, who will meet Scotsman Peter Wright in his first round match in Glasgow.
In the "Game On" podcast, Elmar Paulke analyzed van Gerwen's performance and was impressed by the Dutchman's statement that he tries to refocus every week. According to him, Mighty Mike's goal is to win the tournament every week.

"The way he fights to be on the ball every time," said Paulke. "That actually starts after the success."
This way of approaching the matches reminded the German voice of darts of another well-known, very successful darts player from the past. "A bit like Phil Taylor, who couldn't enjoy the evening at all. He couldn't celebrate the victory because he was always thinking about the next tournament."
"So van Gerwen is actually just fighting to find the right mindset again so that he can then play good darts. In the end, that's the key to success, to sporting quality," said Paulke at the end, summarizing his train of thought.
