'Duzza' really had to fight for the title, as Richard Veenstra offered fierce opposition. 'Flyers' even took a 3-1 lead in sets against Durrant.
However, the Dutchman was not able to continue his strong performance from the first interval after the break. Durrant became stronger and redeemded more chances on the doubles. He won the next three sets on the spin, while dropping only two legs for a 4-3 lead.
Veenstra took the lead in set eight with a 12-dart leg, but 'Duzza' made one a piece with a fantastic 170 checkout. The two-time Lakeside champion then hit a 50 finish, followed by a 12-dart leg to claim the title at the Finder Darts Masters.
The finals of the youth and ladies tournament were played earlier on Sunday. Lisa Ashton defeated Fallon Sherrock to claim the ladies title, while Keane Barry won the youth event.
