The second matchday of the JDC Advanced Tour 2026 in Bristol once again made it clear that one name currently stands above the rest: Mitchell Lawrie. The highly talented 15-year-old continued his impressive winning streak and strengthened his lead in the rankings with another tournament victory.

Lawrie makes an instant statement

At Hangar 61 in Bristol, four titles were contested on March 21 and 22, and it was Lawrie — last year’s runner-up at the WDF World Championship — who immediately made his mark on Saturday. After a dominant opening day of the season last month, in which he already claimed three titles, he added a fourth consecutive tournament win in event five. His route to the final was convincing: victories over the likes of Archie Self and Joseph Westby were followed by emphatic whitewashes against Owen Bryceland and Alfie Moore. In the semifinals, he dispatched Christian Ennis 5-2.
Jack Johnson awaited in the final, the player who won the JDC Super 16 title last year. Lawrie once again proved a class apart. With a strong run of three legs on the spin, he sealed a 6-3 victory, extending his unbeaten streak to an impressive 24 matches.
Johnson nonetheless enjoyed a notably consistent weekend. The young Englishman also reached the finals of the sixth and seventh events, but had to settle for runner-up on both occasions. In event six, Alfie Cook convincingly captured his first title of the season. The 13-year-old put together a strong run and was far too strong for Johnson in the final with a 6-1 win, reeling off six consecutive legs.
Johnson also had to bow in the seventh event, this time to Jayden Walker. Walker showed his best form with a dominant campaign. After a convincing semifinal in which he did not drop a leg, he closed out the tournament with a clear 6-2 victory in the final.
The final day concluded with event eight, where Archie Self took the title. The 16-year-old Englishman enjoyed a strong tournament and capped his performance with a commanding 6-1 win over Kaya Baysal, the reigning JDC Winmau World Masters champion. Earlier in the tournament, Self had already survived a tense semifinal and also took out, among others, Eelyas Van Bruyssel and Aaron De Ridder.

Depth at the top of youth darts

With four different winners in a single weekend, it once again became clear how deep the top of youth darts is right now. Still, for the time being, Lawrie remains the benchmark. His remarkable run and consistent level make him the man to beat on the 2026 JDC Advanced Tour.
At the same time, players like Cook, Walker, and Self are showing that the chasing pack is right on his heels, which bodes well for the rest of the season.
