The MODUS Super Series is hosting a "Legends Week" this week. After two days of play, Steve Beaton is top of the table, but the 60-year-old Englishman did experience a hair-raising moment on or perhaps just off the stage on Tuesday.

The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament with 12 players competing Monday through Friday for a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. The player who finishes first after three sessions qualifies directly for the final night on Saturday night. On final night, players compete in a small group stage, followed by semifinals and a final to determine the weekly winner. The competition begins again the following week, with twelve new players competing for the title. After twelve weeks of competition, all weekly winners compete in "Champions Week," which is played every thirteen weeks of play to determine who wins the series and one with the top prize of £20,000.

'Legends Week' takes place this week, with players such as Steve Beaton, Vincent van der Voort, Robert Thornton and Richie Burnett in action. Beaton took on Devon Petersen on Tuesday and proved 4-2 too strong for the South African.

But Beaton's winning moment was disrupted by an almost embarrassing one. After a certain throw, Beaton stepped behind Petersen at the end of the stage, but he put his foot wrong. He tripped when he put his foot in the wrong place, causing him to slip off the small stage and quickly jump back on, hoping no one saw. But Beaton had no luck and Petersen even smiled to see if he was in good shape.

After two days of play, by the way, Beaton leads the dance in the Modus Super Series, with 14 points he has two more than the chasing trio Richie Howson, Richie Burnett and Neil Duff.
