Anastasia Dobromyslova has been eliminated from the 2019 PDC World Championship.
The Russian failed to produce her best darts at the Alexandra Palace, losing 3-0 to Ryan Joyce. When asked by if she enjoyed her second
PDC World Championship experience, Dobromyslova gave an emphatic response. "No! If I don't smile, I'd probably cry." Dobromyslova joked. "Ryan played better - nothing I can do. Couple of loose scores and missed doubles. But at the end of the day, I still qualified and did my best, it just wasn't good enough on the day."
Second chance
On her previous World Championship outing, Dobromyslova lost out to Remco van Eijden. A decade on, the 34-year-old felt her second shot at the Ally Pally was more comfortable than the first.
"I was thinking it'd be worse than that! But I was so calm on the stage, I wasn't nervous or anything. It just didn't go the way I wanted it to go," she said.
"I didn't know how the crowd would be, if they'd sing or cheer. It didn't affect me at all. It was awesome, amazing."
Moving on
The Ellesmere Port-based thrower now has the BDO World Championship to prepare for. For last year's Lakeside finalist, the PDC experience will provide a major boost.
"You can't have a better preparation than this! I'll be back home tomorrow, practicing," Dobromyslova said.
Asked about her preference between the Ally Pally and Lakeside, and if she hoped the PDC would continue its interest in the women's game. Dobromyslova was upbeat.
"Wherever I play better!" she laughed.
"That (continued interest) would be cool. If the PDC announced tomorrow that there'll be a ladies' tour, I'd be the first one in the queue."
