Jeff Smith Interview Part 2 - 'I definitely will be playing Q-School this year'

In the run up to the World Championship, Dartsnews has spoken to various players and after part 1, here's part 2 of the interview with Jeff Smith. In this part we speak about Q-School, World Series events coming back to America, Winmau and finally his nickname.
Q: What about Q-School and will you be there in January? Note: This was before the big announcement of entry fees being abolished last week.
'I definitely will be playing Q-school this year, based on the the current situation. I owe it to my family and my sponsors to carry on playing, wherever it takes me. I will do just that.'

Q: What are your thoughts on Canadian darts and the World Series coming back to the States and what kind of impact has that on you?
'Absolutely having World Series events in North America is fueling many darts players want to be a part of it all.. I hope successes that John, myself, Larry etc continues to inspire new blood to give this game a legitimate go. We're already seeing commitment from players like Dawson Murschell who has taken his game to the UK. As that's the level needed to compete on the big stages.. Hard to do that by playing round robin events back home, or best of 3 knockouts.'
Q: What are your experiences so far with Winmau, the manufacturers of his darts and your thoughts on the 2018 launch and the products available
'My whole experience with Winmau, has been nothing short of amazing. You really feel like you're part of something when representing them. 2018 has so many great products, but that's always been their style.. Best possible quality, for prices everyone can afford. It was a no brainer when they approached me to join their team.'
Q: How did you get your unique nickname?
'That nickname was given to me at the Canadian Nationals in 2008 by Ken MacNeil. I hadn't played Nationals in 5 years, and won it on that year. Said no one seen me coming, just like a silencer.
