"I'll keep plugging away" promises UK Open favourite Gary Anderson

A crazy couple of days has enhanced the Scot's chances even further. Only three of the world's top 30 seeds remain in the tournament going into the quarter-finals. Many now believe Anderson is the favourite to take the title. The luck of the draw has worked against the Flying Scotsman, however. He faces world number three Rob Cross, the world champion. But Anderson, despite the distractions of storms and shocks, feels he is well placed to win his first UK Open title.
“It’s been going well so far,” said Anderson.
"This would be a nice tournament to win. It’s been strange but I think it has suited me in a way."
Anderson has enjoyed an ideal run in Minehead, particularly on Saturday. In Ricky Evans and Jermaine Wattimena, he faced two of the fastest players in the game. Allowed to play at his preferred speedy pace, the two-time world champion thrashed Evans 10-3, and averaged 104.72 in the 10-7 victory over Wattimena.
"I like to get on with the game and I’ve had a couple of fast opponents so I’ve been able to do that. I’ll just keep plugging way and if I win, I win," he said.
