Rob Cross looks forward to Anderson clash: "It's going to be a cracker"

Beside the world champion, there are just two of the world's top 30 players left. But Cross was drawn against the man closest to him in the Order of Merit. World number four Gary Anderson is the Hastings ace's next opponent. Voltage believes that the pair will make sparks fly on the Minehead stage.
“I'm looking forward to the game against Gary, it's going to be a cracker.
“You're going to play the best players in the world anyway so it doesn't matter when you draw them," Cross said.
The 27-year-old burst onto the scene in the UK Open two years ago. His 2016 run as an amateur was halted by a rampant Michael van Gerwen. Two years later, he is the world champion, and three wins away from taking the UK Open title. Cross knows exactly what he needs to do to add his name to the history books.
“I'm going have to score big and check out well, but I like it when I've got a test and it's better to be pushed," he said.
“The UK Open was the platform for everything else - without this it wouldn't have been possible to do what I've done. It was a massive eye opener a couple of years ago and it's helped me develop and get better. It's a fantastic event.”
