Defending champion is Michael van Gerwen who saw off James Wade in the final last year where he averaged 110 in an
8-3 win. Van Gerwen is coming off the back of multiple
European Tour victories already this year and he will be in action in Sindelfingen.
As will the likes of Rob Cross, Daryl Gurney and home favourite Max Hopp. All of whom are seeded for this weekend's event. In terms of the UK Qualifier, we will see first appearances for the likes of Mark McGeeney and Gavin Carlin; both have impressed so far since getting their Tour Cards.
Jamie Hughes and Glen Durrant also came through that route; as did ever present and evergreen Steve Beaton who has been rolling back the years for the past few weeks on the European Tour.
There is no Raymond van Barneveld in Sindelfingen but a lot of the next generation are involved including Jeffrey de Zwaan, Dimitri van den Bergh and a debut for promising Dutchman, Niels Zonneveld.
Kim Viljanen and Pero Ljubic have come through the Nordic and Baltic and East European Qualifier respectively with more spots up for grabs through Host Nation and West/South European on Thursday night.
