The 2025 Premier League lineup has officially been
announced, with the best eight players in the world taking centre stage. Don’t
worry if you aren’t familiar with all of them – there are a lot of exceptional
darts players in the field! We’ll take a closer look at each of the 2025
Premier League members below.
Luke Humphries
Also known as “Cool Hand Luke”, Luke Humphries is one
of the most well-respected darts players in the world. He has 18 senior
Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) titles and, at the time of writing, is the
World Matchplay champion and Players Championship Finals champion. He was also
the runner-up in the
World Grand Prix 2024, Premier League 2024 and
UK Open 2024. It’s no surprise to see his name top the list of the Premier
League for 2025.
Luke Littler
Luke Littler, sometimes known as Luke “The Nuke”, has
accomplished an incredible amount for someone who is just 18 years old at the
time of writing. In his relatively short time in the professional darts scene,
Littler threw a nine-darter in Gibraltar’s MVG Masters, won a number of WDF
Youth titles, and earned a place at the 2022 WDF World Championships when he
was 16. His 2024 World Championship run saw him defeating two world champions
on his way to the final, where he ultimately fell to Luke Humphries.
Michael van Gerwen
Michael van Gerwen is a well-known name to any darts
fan. He was the world’s number one ranked darts player in the PDC for seven
straight years from 2014 to 2021 and won the PDC World Champion three times
(2014, 2017 and 2019). In total, Van Gerwen has won 47 singles events and is a
six-time World Grand Prix champion, five-time PDC Masters winner, five-time
World Series Finals winner, and four-time European Champion, among many other
accomplishments.
Rob Cross
Rob Cross, also known as “Voltage”, hit the world
darts scene in 2017. He had the greatest debut year in the history of the PDC,
in fact, winning the 2018 World Darts Championship against Phil Taylor. His
success continued in 2019 when he became the fourth player to win both the
World Championship and the World Matchplay. Since then, he has been a reliable
addition to the Premier League and can be counted on to deliver top
performances time after time.
Stephen Bunting
Stephen Bunting has been in professional darts for
over a decade at this point. He has won a hefty number of titles during this
time, including the BDO Lakeside World Championship and the 2024 World Masters
against Michael van Gerwen. He has no intention of resting on his laurels
either, with his eyes firmly on the 2025 season.
Gerwyn Price
Also known as the “Iceman”, Gerwyn Price is a Welsh
player with a rather long list of accomplishments in the sport. He has won a
total of 37 senior PDC titles throughout his career, the vast majority of them
occurring after his 2016 breakthrough when he made the top 32 on the PDC Order
of Merit. Perhaps most notably, Price has won the Grand Slam three times and
the World Series Finals twice. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the table
this year!
Chris Dobey
Chris Dobey is relatively new to the sport. His
breakthrough year was 2023, when he reached the quarter-finals of the World
Championship and, weeks later, secured The Masters title against Michael Smith,
the then world number one ranked player. He has been a member of the Premier
League since 2023.
Nathan Aspinall
Nathan Aspinall, also known as “The Asp”, has been a
professional darts player with the PDC since 2012, though his breakthrough
didn’t come until 2019. In that year, he won the World Matchplay, UK Open and
US Darts Masters. In total, he has won eight senior PDC titles. His peak rank,
as of the time of writing, is number four (in 2024).
