A sentence perhaps that many wouldn't put together is Scott Mitchell appearing in EastEnders or not appearing as is technically the case as 'Scotty Dog', the former BDO World Champion made a surprising revelation about how darts matches work on TV.
In particular in the Queen Victoria pub in EastEnders there is a dartboard and at times is used to settle scores on the long running soap opera. But it isn't the actors who miraculously hit bullseye as Mitchell confirmed. It is people like the former BDO World Champion.
So any sort of winning moments in that regard are down to people like Mitchell and he said he has been going into the show for over a decade. 'Scotty Dog' also compared himself to 'The Stig', a facet of the TV show Top Gear where he remained under a helmet and anonymous for years.
Albeit Mitchell perhaps isn't as big a focal point as The Stig but he said it is similar but in darts in this case. "I don't know whether I've had the duff duffs because I haven't been watching it," said Mitchell as per talkSPORT.
"But yeah I'm a bit of a, I'm like the Stig of the Darts world where I pop in to various shows and throw a dart but you never see me."
"Basically we see the darts hit the board where they want the actors to put them. Well obviously it's part of the script. So sometimes where the dart lands is where the script is heading and going. So it needs to land in certain places.
"So if they need a bullseye to win a match obviously then the script then goes to the next two minutes off the back of that bullseye.
"I haven't watched EastEnders for a long time. It's just the way the game works."
He also perhaps harshly called himself a jobber saying that he will do whatever job that the money takes him to and that he has been going in for the last ten years now and again.
"I've been going in and out for ten years every now and again. You know I'm a jobber. I just do wherever the money takes me."
