Adams finished ahead of David Evans after facing off against him in their final game and edging past him in a 5-4 win.
This was despite averaging eight less than his opponent with 86 compared to 93 from Evans but he edged him on the doubles at the pivotal point to roll back the years and claim it.
As well as Evans, he saw off Jason Askew (5-4), Boris Koltsov (5-3) and Scott Mitchell (5-2) averaging between 89 and 101 in his four games showing consistency all night.
Boris Koltsov finished third after claiming two wins and two defeats bouncing back well after losing to Evans early on to see off Jason Askew and then finally Scott Mitchell in the end in a 5-4 win that included a 100 average.
Jason Askew was next up with one win and three defeats over the course of the night seeing off Scott Mitchell in that case 5-1 with a 99 average. Then finally 'Scotty Dog' finished at the bottom of the pile not enduring the best start to his week after winning the penultimate event in the first week of the competition.
