Des Jacklin returned to the helm as the BDO Chairman earlier today after only quitting the position last month and in a letter to the Counties, he revealed why he chose to have a change of heart after initially being re voted on as a director this past weekend.
Jacklin said the following during his letter (below): "Firstly it gives me great pleasure to write to you once again as Chairman of the BDO, the past 4 weeks has given me time to reflect on the events of the past 18 months and re-evaluate my position; thoughts, and vision required to take our company forward; I also feel like I've had chance to recharge my batteries."
He went on to reveal who will be involved in directors roles; with Peter Gilchrist (Secretary of Derbyshire) joining as Vice Chairman, Bob Foster (Cambridgeshire Chairman) joining as Commercial Director; as well as Graham Manning (Oxfordshire Secretary) as Players Director and Stephen Gittus as Financial Director.
Frank Branscombe though has resigned from the BDO in a decision that Jacklin 'wholeheartadly' supports; he went on to thank him and other staff/directors involved.
He finally spoke about Social Media and the need to implement a legal policy which will see a 'consequence' in fines and exclusion for counties; who do not adhere to the ruling; as well as a committee will also be appointed to monitor this.
