Alcinas secures Spanish double on European Challenge Tour

After the earlier success of José Justicia, the title went to a Spaniard again on the European Challenge Tour on Friday evening. Alcinas won the final of the eighth tournament by beating Jimmy Hendriks 5-0.

It is the first Challenge Tour title for Alcinas, who had a Tour Card from 2011 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2020. On his way to the final the Spanish ace had won against Erik Tautfest (5-1), Martijn Dragt (5-4), Niko Springer (5-4), Marvin van Velzen (5-2) and Rowby-John Rodriguez (5-3).

The Challenge Tour circuit is open to players who have participated in the Q-School, but have not won a Tour Card.

Due to travel restrictions still in place due to the corona pandemic, this year's Challenge Tour has been split into a separate circuit for both British and European players. The winners of both tours will be allowed to participate in the upcoming World Championship and receive a PDC Tour Card for 2022 and 2023.
