The outer ring is going to be a huge talking point next week, as the 2025 World Grand Prix is set to commence. The competition is unique for its double-in double-out format, separating itself from any other event on the calendar.
With this, darters have a huge array of doubles to choose from, as they desperately look to start the leg off on the front foot. Not surprisingly, double 20 and 16 are the go-to for many, as they would be at the end of a leg. Before the event kicks off in Leicester next Monday, Darts Orakel have crunched the numbers and come up with the highest accuracy for players on what is likely their starting double in the last three months.

Price dominant on tops with Anderson, Searle and Rock close behind

When Gerwyn Price is on it, double 20 is pinned more times than it is missed. He is synonymous with the double, recognised as one of the best, if not the best, at tops in the sport. He has proved that in recent times, finding the target an incredible 49% of the time.
Just behind him is two-time World Champion Gary Anderson with 48%, Ryan Searle on 46% and Josh Rock with a commendable 45%. While Searle is similar to Price in tops being their favourite double, Anderson and Rock are more versatile, known to mix things up. This will give them more freedom around the board but with the numbers they are boasting here, tops could be the double to start on.

Springer, Nijman leads the double 16 brigade

It is the two young stars who are the most clinical on double 16. Niko Springer recently won his first Euro Tour title in Budapest thanks to the target, consistently finding the green bit to dispose of some of the sport's biggest names. In the last three months, he has found the target 48% of the time. Wessel Nijman comes in just behind the German with 46%, extremely high numbers for a double that will be twice as important next week.
Gian van Veen, Damon Heta, and Daryl Gurney also hold an exemplary checkout rate on double 16 with 45% on their chosen double. Surprisingly, one of the most recognised double 16 hitters on the planet, Ryan Joyce, does not feature. He reached the semi-final of the Grand Prix last year with that target a huge reason why. He will certainly be one to look out for at the Mattioli Arena.
