Astonishing scenes as Aspinall misses nine-dart finish and further match darts in Ross Smith defeat, Cross clinical in Ratajski win

The second semi-final is set with Rob Cross set to face Ross Smith after Luke Humphries set up a tie with Damon Heta at the European Darts Grand Prix.

But for Smith, he was incredibly lucky to move through after unbelievable scenes in the deciding leg against Nathan Aspinall.

Aspinall started the decider superbly and seemingly was on his way to victory when he went eight darts into a perfect leg just coming inside double 12.

But an astonishing sequence followed as Aspinall missed four more for the match and he looked shell shocked as Smith took out 107 to seal it.

He will now face Rob Cross who in his quest for a first European Tour title finally took down Krzysztof Ratajski.

It was a 6-4 win for 'Voltage' who has been in superb form as of late including sealing a ProTour last weekend and he was clinical on the outer ring in this tie with 60% in all.
