One of the most naturally talented darters of all time, Adrian Lewis has been absent for nearly two years from the PDC Pro Tour, prioritising time at home to deal with issues in his personal life. In 2025 though, 'Jackpot' is set to make tentative steps in returning to the PDC's elite with him set to perform on the MODUS Super Series.
Despite all that Lewis has achieved over the years though, including taking the PDC World Darts Championship title back-to-back in 2011 and 2012, plus the European Championship in 2013, UK Open in 2014 and four World Cup of Darts titles for England in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016, the 39-year-old won't be given any special treatment from the PDC insists Barry Hearn.
Asked by SunSport if Lewis could potentially receive any special dispensation, Hearn was firm in his response. “Absolutely none. Nor can there be," answered the 76-year-old Hearn, explaining hoq past glories won't secure Lewis a place going forwards. “It’s not about what you used to do – it’s about what you can do."

The last time 'Jackpot' competed at a major PDC event was at UK Open back in March 2023. Despite not being willing to offer any wildcards or a legends Tour Card, similar to the one given by Hearn's Matchroom Sports owned World Snooker Tour to seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry, Hearn insists he would welcome Lewis' return to the PDC if he manages to make it through the traditional means.
“Does he have to go through Q School? Yeah. We’d welcome him back with open arms," Hearn explains in conclusion. “He’s a great lad and a great player. He has had his own personal problems. Which he has to come to terms with. But they are not our problems, they are his problems and it is up to him to solve them.”
