For the third time in three days, Luke Humphries has won an exhibition tournament. 'Cool Hand Luke' won earlier this week in Leeds and Newcastle, and also proved the best at the Scarborough Masters on Friday night.

In addition to Humphries, big name players Raymond van Barneveld, Ricky Evans and Scott Williams were the crowd-pleasers at the exhibition event in northern England.

The fans in attendance watched Humphries beat Evans 4-1 in the first semifinal. Van Barneveld then won in the second semifinal over Williams. The final between Humphries and Van Barneveld was a 4-1 win for the reigning world champion.

Many world top players play exhibitions during this period. Not primarily for a nice extra pocket money, but also to keep up match rhythm ahead of the World Darts Championship.

Later this month, Van Barneveld and Humphries could meet again at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship. The two (former) world champions are close together in the draw. Humphries will play either Thibault Tricole or Joe Comito in his first match, while Van Barneveld will face either Nick Kenny or Stowe Buntz. Should Van Barneveld and Humphries win their first match, they will face each other in the third round after Christmas.
