Brooks shocks two-time world champion Lewis at Hungarian Darts Trophy

Bradley Brooks has reached the second round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy with a fine victory over Adrian Lewis. The reigning world youth champion won after a leg-decider against the former two-time world champion.

Lewis broke Brooks in the third leg with a 98 finish, but then conceded his own leg twice. In the eighth leg the matched was leveled after an 11-darter and 15-darter by Jackpot. Brooks threw a superb 124 finish on the bullseye for 5-4. Lewis forced a deciding leg, but missed four darts for a place in the secound. Then it was Brooks who hit double 1 with his fifth matchdart.

The English talent will play Nathan Aspinall in the second round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy on Saturday. Former world youth champion Luke Humphries also reached the last 32 in Budapest. Humphries beat Madars Razma 6-3 to take on Devon Petersen in the second round. Alan Soutar will meet Brendan Dolan after his easy 6-1 win over home player Jozsef Rucska.
