BROWN WINS! Keegan Brown into the Second Round with a straight sets victory, but Ryan Meikle will perhaps be wondering how he has lost that. But as we know, set play is all about timing!
The final first round match at the PDC World Darts Championship is complete with Keegan Brown through to the second round with a straight sets win over Ryan Meikle which was harsh on the Development Tour standout.
Brown averaged 93 with three ton plus checkouts and two 180's and will now face Dave Chisnall in the second round.
Two of those ton plus checkouts came in the opening set with a high quality start between 'The Needle' and 'The Barber'. He hit 113 and 111 checkouts and two 180's en route to a 3-2 opening set win.
He eased through the second set with a clean sweep including a 126 checkout on the bull as he headed towards the finishing line with a 97 average and 55% on the doubles.
The third set was locked in at 1-1 but Meikle pressured with a 180 only to not capitalise with a 41 checkout and Brown came back to go one away on double 10.
It went all the way to a decider and Meikle had a shot at 121 but missed the bull and Brown pinned the 85 checkout on double 14 to claim the match.
