Joyce was first through to the final after another sublime win, this time against Gary Anderson. It finished 7-3 to 'Relentless' who averaged 101 and he now stands one win away not only from becoming a PDC Ranking winner for the first time but also cementing a surprise spot in the World Matchplay.
Today has seen the Newcastle ace come through against Andy Hamilton (6-4), Luke Humphries (6-3), Chris Dobey (6-4), Madars Razma (6-5) and Glen Durrant (6-5) so his progress to the final was done with ease compared to his previous ties.
He was followed by Chisnall who edged past Nathan Aspinall in a 7-5 win which was a close game throughout but it was the former who shone through in the end.
This was cemented with him going seven darts into a nine-dart finish in the final leg with the darts. It was a 96 average for the St Helens ace in victory as he looks to add his first title of the season and his first since two Players Championship events last year.
