The second round has begun at the 2024
UK Open with Christian Perez the latest winner on the big stage, but Andy Baetens didn't fare so well. He was dumped out by Brett Claydon.
It was a comfortable success for Perez who has shown himself to be a dangerous player but has only just started his ProTour journey fully as of late so time is ticking for him to flaunt his stuff. He saw off Jeffrey Sparidaans 6-2.
While over on Stage Two, former semi-finalist Robert Owen produced a 121 checkout on the bull to wrap up a 6-3 win over Karel Sedlacek. Andy Baetens hit a similar ton topping checkout in the form of a 170, but it wasn't enough as Brett Claydon was in classy form to deny the WDF World Champion.
Joe Croft similarly was in great form as the grandson of former BDO chairman, Olly Croft dumped out James Hurrell with a 156 checkout en route. Other wins came for Owen Roelofs early on as well as Mario Vandenbogaerde, Daniel Klose, Nick Kenny as well as Lee Evans, Ronny Huybrechts, Dylan Slevin, Matthew Dennant and Maik Kuivenhoven. The second round continues in Minehead.
