Connor Scutt has defeated
Dragutin Horvat in the final of PDC
Challenge Tour 13, to take the title. The Englishman destroyed his German opponent in the final, taking a comprehensive 5-0 win, averaging 93.94 in the process.
En route to the final, Scutt had seen off the likes of Andy Boulton (5-2), Sebastian Bialecki (5-4), Bradley Brooks (5-2) and Ritchie Burnett (5-4) among others, averaging over the hundred mark in four of his matches, peaking at a 109.93 in victory over Brooks. Horvat meanwhile, came past the likes of Thomas Cromwell (5-2), Kevin Painter (5-1), Kai Fan Leung (5-3) and Wayne Jones (5-3) among others on the German's own route to the final.
In the final itself, Scutt started by far the stronger, racing out into an early 3-0 lead with legs of 16, 14 and 16. With both players missing a handful of doubles in leg 4, Scutt was again the man to benefit and moved four legs clear. A few moments later, the Englishman then ruthlessly pinned 76 for leg 5 and took the Challenge Tour title with consummate ease.
