Jonny Clayton battled past Adrian Lewis in his opener at the European Darts Grand Prix in Stuttgart and now he sets up a clash with Peter Wright this afternoon.

Clayton spoke afterwards summing up his performance as well as discussing the fortunes of his opponent who he believes will be back to his best soon enough.

"Hot and cold to be honest but both of us we respect each other so much. So that was difficult for me as I really enjoy watching Adrian play because I think that guy has got so much talent it's unbelievable," he said post match.

"But luckily enough I got through. Look out tomorrow.

"In my eyes, Adrian Lewis is still one of the best players that's ever played darts. So personally he won't be gone for long, he'll be back."
