Clayton tops PDC Home Tour Group Eight standings at halfway point after victory over Hunt

Jonny Clayton is currently atop the PDC Home Tour Group Eight table at the halfway point of proceedings with one win from his solitary game so far.

Clayton saw off Adam Hunt in the opening match to begin the night with a 95 average and 5/9 on the doubles and despite only the Welshman and Richard North being the only two players to not play two games, the former tops the standings.

This is due to David Pallett and Adam Hunt being on one win and one defeat meaning that the next game between 'The Ferret' and 'Northy' could be pivotal in deciding a group winner with the former going one away from a clean sweep if he can see off the Hampshire ace.

Pallett saw off North to get his campaign up and running at the first time of asking but then lost out to Hunt which means that both are now level.

Can Clayton join his fellow Welshman, Jamie Lewis in the second round or will Pallett, Hunt or North claim a surprise victory from here, it is very much all riding on the next game.
