Cross survives match darts en route to Wilson win, Woodhouse reaches final day of European Tour for first time

Luke Woodhouse and Rob Cross were the first two players to secure a place in the last sixteen at the European Darts Matchplay on Saturday afternoon.

Cross escaped elimination against James Wilson. In the deciding leg, Wilson was first to a finish, but missed four match darts. Cross saved his skin from there with a 104 checkout as the multiple finalist this season looks finally for his maiden European Tourt title.

Woodhouse had a great 6-3 victory over Krzysztof Ratajski. Both players missed a lot of darts on the doubles, but in the end the Bewdley ace was more effective on the outer ring as he reaches the final day of a European Tour for the first time in Trier.
