Colin McGarry has qualified for the Quarter-FInals of the World Seniors Darts Matchplay. The Northern Irishman beat former World Champion Keith Deller 8-3 in the preliminary round.
McGarry had an average of almost 90. "The big thing coming here at the beginning was win the first match and then whatever follows follows. I know who I'm playing in Peter Evison who is an icon of darts worldwide so we'll see what happens. He will have to play good and I'll have to play better but I'm looking forward to tomorrow afternoon," he said to Live Darts.
"Probably the bigger the crowd the better. I just love it. The crowd was fantastic, they were giving a bit of stick at times but that's darts. Crowd interactions' fantastic and that's what it's all about."
Deller also got riled up by certain members of the crowd talking while he was throwing but for McGarry, it was all about keeping his concentration.
"I don't know if that turned the game. I just throw my darts, you play your game, you concentrate on your game. I lost a bit of concentration when I started to lead. I had three or four great finishes but that's part of my game."
