Cullen preparing for weird Christmas: 'I don't know what to do with myself'

Joe Cullen is through to the Third Round of the PDC World Darts Championship for the first time in his career after claiming a comfortable win over Wayne Jones to begin his campaign.

Cullen will now go home for Christmas knowing he will be coming back which he admits is strange but he also said there was more pressure riding on him after a successful year.

"It's going to be weird, I don't know what to do with myself. We've obviously got to come back down and have a test but I'm definitely going home unless circumstances change and I have to stay here but all being well, I'll be going home and spending it with my family," said Cullen post match.

"This year I knew I had a favourable draw and I felt more pressure. I think that's where my game is at the moment, I'm playing really well over the course of the year, I felt like I was under a bit of pressure at the start of the year obviously pre COVID.

"But I had a good year two years ago so I knew I had to defend it and I think I've done that and more. I won two tournaments, there's nothing like winning, winning two tournaments has been massive for me."
