Price began the night not only as the favourite but the first player to play with a tie against Bradley Brooks starting proceedings off.
'The Iceman' came out on top winning five out of the last six legs to see off 'Bamm Bamm' 5-3 with a 97.4 average and two ton-plus checkouts en route to an early points haul.
Cullen topped that though in his first tie of the night defeating Keegan Brown with a 106.2 average with a clinical display on the doubles as well with 5/7 on the doubles to mount a good start.
Brown though bounced straight back easing past Brooks 5-1 with a 101.3 average and 5/8 on his doubles to keep himself in contention early on.
Every evening, the four players will each face off; with each match being the best of nine legs. This group stage lasts 32 days with that amount of players set to reach the next round to play it out from there to crown a winner. All players have webcams set up in their houses and say their scores out loud; to make sure that they can be inputted correctly without any cheating taking place.
With each night’s action commencing at 1930 BST, darts commentator Dan Dawson will be on hand to talk through proceedings; which will also include live score graphics on screen.
