"Darts is starting to get big here so it's good for darts globally": Van Gerwen pleased to be back in New York

With the US Darts Masters set to take place over the coming weekend from the iconic Madison Square Gardens in New York City, Michael van Gerwen is pleased to see the global growth of the sport.

"It's always nice to be back in this part of the world," the former three-time World Champion says. "It's a huge city and darts is starting to get bigger and bigger over here which is good for darts globally and to be back here in Madison Square Gardens is always nice."

Losing in the final last year to Michael Smith, van Gerwen will be hoping to go one better this time around and pick up his first World Series event of the year.
