The dates for the upcoming edition of the PDC Q-School has been announced. The PDC Q-School 2025 will take place from Monday, January 6 to Sunday, January 12.
Several dozen new Tour Cards will be distributed through this route. A Tour Card allows players to enter the PDC's Pro Tour tournaments. The Pro Tour includes all Players Championship and Euro Tour (qualifying) tournaments.
As in past years, play will take place at two different venues. Players from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Gibraltar must compete in Milton Keynes, England, while European players compete in Kalkar, Germany. Players from other continents may choose which Q-School they participate in.
Also, the Q-School has been cut into two phases. During the first phase from Jan. 6 through Jan. 8, players will compete for a spot in the final phase, where there is room for a total of 128 players at each playing venue. Players who lost their Tour Card after 2024 and are in the top-16 of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit and/or Development Tour Order of Merit are immediately admitted to the finals phase.
The Tour Cards are only distributed during the final stage. The final phase consists of four tournament days, with each day winner receiving a PDC Tour Card. The remaining Tour Cards will be distributed via the Q-School Order of Merit.
It is not yet known how many Tour Cards will be distributed at the Q-School. Normally there are around thirty. The number of Tour Cards per Q-School will be distributed based on the number of entries at both venues.
Players who fail to win a PDC Tour Card can then enter the PDC Challenge Tour circuit. This tour consists of a cycle of 24 tournaments. Through the Challenge Tour, players can still qualify for the Darts World Cup. Two PDC Tour Cards can also be earned for the following two seasons.
