The PDC has announced the darts calendar for 2025. What stands out is that a number of Players Championship tournaments and one Euro Tour tournament have been added to the calendar making it non-stop throughout the season.
In 2025, PDC ranking tournaments will take place on more than 130 days. Also, the calendar includes the PDC's secondary tours and qualifying events that will be part of the biggest year ever on the professional circuit.
The PDC European Tour will be expanded to 14 events as the German city of Göttingen again becomes host to one of the three-day tournaments in addition to the 13 venues for the 2024 season. Four additional one-day Players Championships will also be held in 2025, bringing the number of Players Championship tournaments to 34. Another development is that the Masters will be expanded to 32 players and the event will count toward the world rankings starting in 2025.
The new darts season begins with the PDC Qualifying School from Jan. 6-12, with simultaneous events in Milton Keynes and Kalkar. The Premier League and Players Championship seasons then begin in February, while the UK Open takes place from Feb. 28 to March 2 at Butlin's Minehead Resort.
The European Tour begins in March in Wieze, Belgium. From March through May, as many as eight Euro Tour tournaments will be completed. The World Cup of Darts will be held in Frankfurt from June 12-15, while the World Matchplay will be held in Blackpool from July 19-27.
The European Tour concludes in the fall with visits to Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland and Germany ahead of the European Championship Oct. 23-26 in Dortmund.
Amsterdam will again host the World Series of Darts Finals, which will take place from Sept. 12 to 14. The dates of the other World Series tournaments will be announced later.
The World Grand Prix will remain in Leicester from Oct. 6-12, while November will see the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton and the Players Championship Finals in Minehead, prior to the start of the PDC World Darts Championship in December.
The PDC's Challenge Tour, Development Tour and Women's Series will again each have 24 events throughout the year, providing valuable experience for players outside the PDC ProTour circuit.
