De Decker, Mathers, Hudson, De Zwaan and Boulton first reserves for 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship

With the uncertainty regarding travel and also the current state of the Coronavirus pandemic with the new Omicron variant, the full field might not yet be set for the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship.

But if players have to withdraw for various reasons, who comes in as their replacement? Mike de Decker is the current first reserve and will likely head to the UK in case of any issues with those now arriving having to take a second day PCR.

Also on the list are other players who lost in the final round of the qualifier including Gordon Mathers, Peter Hudson, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Andy Boulton.

All barring De Zwaan are currently based in the UK so would be able to take any places fairly easily.

Last year, Martijn Kleermaker contracted Covid-19 on his arrival in the UK so was unable to take part during a time when the UK was heading into national lockdown.
