Ron Meulenkamp will play at the PDC World Darts Championship for the sixth time in his career. 'The Bomb' will face Lisa Ashton in the first round.
Ashton is, next to Fallon Sherrock, one of the two ladies who qualified for the World Championship.
"Surprising draw", Meulenkamp reacted to RTL 7. "In advance you see a number of possible opponents, but you do not really count on facing them. Maybe I should call Jan Dekker, who beat her at the World Championships in 2019."
Practice with 'Barney'
Meulenkamp is going to thoroughly prepare for the World Cup in the coming weeks. "Both individually and in a group. Jermaine Wattimena and Raymond van Barneveld, among others, have already agreed to train together. Raymond will meet a slow player in Ilagan at the World Championship, so a practice session with me could be useful", Meulenkamp laughs.
