De Zwaan after victory over Hughes on late call-up to World Grand Prix: "It was a rollercoaster 24 hours"

Jeffrey de Zwaan is through to the second round at the World Grand Prix after seeing off Jamie Hughes 2-1 in a late call-up to proceedings in Coventry.

This came after Stephen Bunting and Adrian Lewis tested positive so unlike Simon Whitlock who lives in the UK, it was a dash over for De Zwaan to take his place in the field.

But he proved that it was the right decision to travel and highlights included a 136 which he admitted post match gave him goosebumps.

"It was a rollercoaster 24 hours, it's sad news about Adrian Lewis and Stephen Bunting but it's nice to be here and to win today is an amazing feeling," said De Zwaan.

"My starting double was probably my strongest point today but my finishing was good too - the 136 game me goosebumps, the feeling was amazing. I have to score better too but we'll see what happens in the next game."
