Dave Chisnall is through his first round at the
World Grand Prix after a really impressive victory over Glen Durrant in Coventry to continue his recent form.
Chisnall averaged 102.85 and just missed out on Alan Warriner-Little's highest recorded average in the tournament. He hit a brilliant 70% on his opening doubles as well as three 180's and 6/16 on his finishing doubles.
He spoke afterwards and said the practice has been going in and that to the critics, his record despite not winning titles shows itself that he can hit the doubles.
"I don't think I've sent a statement out. I've just come to do a job. I've been practicing very hard, I've done a couple of hours a day but I've done a straight hour on in and off (doubles) and I've hit loads of 160's at home but obviously it's easy at home and it showed up there," said Chisnall to Online Darts post match.
"I did all this lockdown before the World Matchplay and I was really good. I was playing really good and I was knocking in nine-darters for fun and when I got to the Matchplay, it just didn't happen to me."
"If I play like this all week, I'll be hard to stop. They say I can't hit doubles. I've won 15 tournaments and been in 5 finals."
