Despite taking indefinite darts break Lewis still holds record for most 180s at a major

Although the past few years may not have been kind to Adrian Lewis. Jackpot, who recently announced he was taking an indefinite break from darts, was undoubtedly one of the all-time greats in his pomp.

With just a few stats that back that claim up, Darts Orakel recently posted a tweet that shows just how good Adrian Lewis was when he was in full flow.

For example no player in history has hit more 180s at a single edition of the Grand Slam of Darts or the World Matchplay than the former two-time World Champion's record of 52 and 56 respectively.

Only two men, Phil 'the Power' Taylor and 'Mighty' Michael van Gerwen have ever hit more nine-dart finishes than Lewis with only the late great Eric Bristow becoming a double world champion at a younger age than Jackpot.

Still just 38 years of age, time is on Lewis's side and with as much natural ability as he has who's to say we won't see him back at his brilliant best once again.
