Taylor, no relative of darts legend Phil Taylor, made it to the final match after wins over Sebastian Bialecki (5-1), Henry Coates (5-2) and Thibault Tricole (5-4), among others. He then triumphed 5-2 against Cam Crabtree in the final.
The Challenge Tour is open to players who participated in the Q-School but did not win a Tour Card there. The number one and two on the Challenge Tour rankings are offered a PDC Tour Card at the end of the season for the following two seasons. In addition, they may also participate in the World Darts Championship.
