Draw for 2020 Players Championship Finals confirmed

The draw has been confirmed ahead of the Players Championship Finals after the conclusion of the PDC Winter Series.

Peter Wright will be Number One seed for the tournament which will take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry behind closed doors instead of Minehead. He will first take on Ryan Meikle in the first round after Jeff Smith had to withdraw due to travel restrictions. Also Mensur Suljovic withdrew after a family bereavement. He is replaced by Darren Webster.

While Michael van Gerwen as defending champion as he faces Darius Labanauskas in the opening round. Other standout ties include World Matchplay champion Dimitri van den Bergh plays Ryan Searle, while 2014 winner Gary Anderson will take on Keegan Brown.

Daryl Gurney, the 2018 champion who will defend his prize money from two years ago will face in-form Callan Rydz. Nathan Aspinall will take on former Grand Slam champion, Scott Waites.

Michael Smith will face a familiar foe in Boris Krcmar who vanquished him on multiple occasions in the Autumn Series. Adrian Lewis will also face Simon Whitlock in a tasty tie which will likely adorn the main stage.

Played between 27 and 29 November, it acts as the final event before the PDC World Championship albeit under different circumstances this year.
