DRAW Grand Slam of Darts 2025: Beau Greaves to face Michael van Gerwen & Gary Anderson in 'Group of Death'

The draw for the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts has thrown up a monster ‘Group of Death’, with Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, Beau Greaves and Niko Springer all set to collide in what promises to be the most explosive section of the tournament.

It’s a line-up stacked with storylines. Van Gerwen, a three-time world champion and No.3 seed in Wolverhampton, will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last year’s shock group-stage exit — his first since 2010. Standing in his way is Anderson, still capable of brilliance on the big stage, and Greaves, the trailblazing women’s star who recently stunned Luke Littler in the World Youth Championship semi-finals. Completing the quartet is Germany’s Springer, a fast-rising talent who lifted his first PDC European Tour title earlier this season.

Defending champion Luke Littler will begin his title defence in Group B against Daryl Gurney, Connor Scutt and Karel Sedlacek. The teenager produced a stunning 16–3 win over Martin Lukeman in last year’s final and will be among the favourites again to lift the Eric Bristow Trophy.

World number one Luke Humphries hasn’t had it easy either. The reigning world champion has been drawn into a blockbuster Group A featuring Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith and American qualifier Alex Spellman. With three of the sport’s biggest names in one group, it’s another minefield that could see a major name fall early.

Elsewhere, Stephen Bunting heads Group C alongside Martin Schindler, Luke Woodhouse and Alexis Toylo, while James Wade faces a fierce challenge in Group D against Gerwyn Price, Ricky Evans and Stefan Bellmont.

The Grand Slam returns to the WV Active – Aldersley from 8–16 November, with 32 players battling for one of the most prestigious titles in darts. The group stage runs from 8–11 November, before the top two from each pool advance to the knockout rounds, where the race for the Eric Bristow Trophy truly begins.

With Van Gerwen, Anderson and Greaves all colliding early, the so-called ‘Group of Death’ looks certain to deliver fireworks — and could well shape the entire course of the 2025 Grand Slam.
