Damon Heta has shaved off his trademark moustache and proudly unveiled a clean-shaven new look. The 38-year-old Australian is once again throwing his support behind Movember, the annual campaign raising awareness for men’s health. This year marks the third time Heta has taken part in the initiative.
Movember encourages men to start the month with a fresh shave and then grow a moustache throughout November, in support of causes including men’s mental health and the prevention of prostate and testicular cancer. Heta officially kicked off his participation last weekend by removing his iconic facial hair.
Sharing a selfie to X, the world no.12 wrote: “And just like that… it’s Mo’ time again! The canvas has been wiped clean, the razors are down, and it’s time to grow another upper-lip masterpiece, all in the name of men’s mental health, suicide, prostate and testicular cancer.”
As part of his efforts, Heta also announced a prize draw to raise extra funds for the charities involved. Fans can win a replica of his match shirt, a flame-style wig and a set of darts — a light-hearted way to combine fun with fundraising.
Heta’s fresh-faced look has already sparked amusement across the darts circuit. Fellow pro Dave Chisnall couldn’t resist a playful jab, commenting: “Looks like an office worker without the stache.”
Fans will be able to track the progress of Heta’s regrown ‘Mo’ over the coming weeks as he competes at the Grand Slam of Darts, which begins on Saturday in Wolverhampton. The eight-day tournament will conclude with the final on 16 November.

Tough group draw

Heta finds himself in a tricky Grand Slam group alongside Chris Dobey, Martin Lukeman and Jurjen van der Velde, setting up a challenging battle for a place in the knockout stages — as well as giving fans a front-row seat to his facial hair’s comeback journey.
Later this month, the Aussie will also feature at the Players Championship Finals in Minehead, where he faces Justin Hood in the opening round after finishing third on the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit.
By the time the World Darts Championship begins at Alexandra Palace on 11 December, the moustache that’s become part of Heta’s identity is expected to be fully restored. This will be his seventh straight appearance at Ally Pally, with his best run coming two years ago when he reached the last 16. Although he couldn’t match that feat last year, he did produce a memorable nine-darter in the third round against Luke Woodhouse — a reminder that whether clean-shaven or moustached, Damon Heta remains one of darts’ most entertaining characters.
