DRAW PDC Players Championship Finals 2025: Rematch between Van Veen and Humphries headlines first round

Gian van Veen can prepare for a reunion with Luke Humphries. After their previous encounters at the World Matchplay and in the final of the European Championship, in which the Dutchman emerged victorious each time, the two will once again do battle at the 2025 Players Championship Finals.
The 34 tournaments of the Players Championship season are over, which means the final rankings are final and the draw for the tournament in Minehead is set. The best 64 players of the year return there for the last big test towards the World Darts Championship.
Van Veen finished the season seventh in the standings, while Humphries, due to only fourteen tournaments played, did not advance beyond spot 58. The result: immediately in the first round a match of stature awaits between the reigning European champion and the world champion of 2024.
Among the other matches, the duel between Gerwyn Price and Max Hopp immediately springs to mind, with Price as the number one ranked player after a standout season from the Welshman on the Pro Tour in 2025.
World champion Luke Littler survived a bit of a scare to eventually secure qualification for Minehead. As a reward, The Nuke now faces off against Dutch / Swede Jeffrey de Graaf in round one.
Elsewhere, Ross Smith against Niko Springer also promises spectacle, as two of the biggest power scorers on tour face off. Furthermore, former major champions Peter Wright and Joe Cullen meet surprisingly early following campaigns below their usual level, while former Players Championship Finals winners Gary Anderson and Daryl Gurney are also in action, facing Mario Vandenbogaerde and Brendan Dolan, respectively.
The 2025 Players Championship Finals will be played at Butlin's Resort in Minehead from Friday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 23. The tournament counts as the final tournament toward the World Darts Championship.

- As good as Beau is, she would have struggled against Trina in her prime. Trina would have beaten most of the men in those days. She was absolutely dominant but won such a disgracefully low amount of prize money. It is great to see her backrichieburnettrocks06-11-2025
- While i do not think dart players should be paid a wage or even expenses it is ludicrous that you get nothing for turning up on the Pro Tour and losing in the first round whereas the officials are being paid a wage. Should have left the World Champion prize money at ÂŁ500k and split the other ÂŁ500k down the ranks. A side note to this. Would not surprise me the reason that Warriner Little and Chris Mason are not being retained for TV coverage is because of their support and backing to the players.Mysstree05-11-2025
- Probably go 1. Wright, 2. Anderson, 3. Wilson, 4. Thornton. Hard to compare Wilson to the other three as his career was over early PDC (WDC). Thornton has two PDC majors, outplayed Taylor to win the UK Open and outplayed MvG to win the Grand Prix and both were in their prime. - Remember watching this and it’s not quite how it unfolded. Waites did play well however when they went off for a break with Wade well in the lead it was almost as if a different Wade came back. Probably one of his bi-polar episodes which was not so widely known then. I still include the GSOD as being a Major even when it was not officially classed as such so in my eyes Scott Waites is the only non PDC player to have won a PDC Major and is a far bigger win in terms of prestige than either of his BDO World titles.Mysstree04-11-2025
