Draw Players Championship 18: Van Gerwen, Wright, Van den Bergh and Bunting headline depleted field

The eighteenth Players Championship tournament of the season gets underway from 1 p.m. in Milton Keynes. The field of participants consists of 128 players, including 29 Dutch and six Belgians.

Michael van Gerwen will play his first tournament since going under the knife for second surgery on his teeth a day after the lost World Matchplay final against Luke Humphries. Upon his return to the darts circuit, 'Mighty Mike' will face Lee Evans.

Luke Humphries, Luke Littler among others won't play after deciding to take time off after returning from Australia and New Zealand. Gerwyn Price is also a late withdrawal with Paul Krohne and Radek Szaganski also deciding against playing.

Other big names involved include Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton, Ross Smith, Dimitri van den Bergh, Peter Wright, Damon Heta and James Wade. Two out of the latter three are also just returning from stints Down Under.

A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.
