Gerwyn Price and two other players in late withdrawal from Players Championship 18

Gerwyn Price, Paul Krohne and Radek Szaganski will not compete in the eighteenth Players Championship tournament of the season this Wednesday afternoon. The trio had initially registered to participate in Milton Keynes, but have now withdrawn.

It is not yet known why the three players decided against participating. Price's cancellation may have to do with the fact that he had to play a World Series of Darts tournament on the other side of the world in New Zealand last weekend. He may opt for a week's rest before 'The Iceman' is expected in Germany next week to participate in the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim.

Price, Krohne and Szaganski will be replaced by players highly ranked on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. Through this route, Rene Eidams, Franz Roetzsch and Reece Colley can now still make their appearance at Pro Tour level. Chances are they will also be allowed to compete in Players Championship 19 on Thursday.
