Glen Durrant just avoided another upset by Jermaine Wattimena at the World Grand Prix. The three-time Lakeside champion reached the semi-finals in Dublin after a 3-2 victory over the Dutchman.

Wattimena played his very first major quarter-final. After beating Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright he faced another world class player. But the world number nineteen showed no awe and won the first set 3-0.
The interruption broke the momentum of Wattimena and Durrant won the second set 3-0. In the third set, the Dutch player was close to win the set, but he gave away a 2-1 lead. The set went to Duzza with two 19-dart legs.
Wattimena refused to give up and showed his class in the fourth set as he produced two ton plus finishes (107 and 110) to force a set decider. He came ahead in the fifth set, but Durrant took over the lead with a 116 checkout and a 14-darter. The former BDO number one then hit a 92 finish to seal his place in the semi-finals.
