Glen Durrant has claimed a draw against Peter Wright to end the first night of the Premier League restart to draw level with Michael van Gerwen at the top of the standings.
Durrant punished a costly miscount in the final leg from Wright after it looked like he was going to be defeated and snatched a point with a 102.4 average in a high quality end to proceedings.
Durrant despite changing his flights from tonight was back to his brilliant best to begin the tie hitting a 101 checkout to claim the first leg.
But despite Durrant going 3-1 up with Wright hitting 108 for his solitary leg, they were soon locked level and the Teesside ace's break was cancelled out by an exquisite 170 checkout.
Durrant missed a chance at a 116 checkout to break back immediately but Wright did not get a shot at 120. Despite that, three darts at double eight went begging and Wright cleaned up 60.
A 14 split by Durrant was pinned on double one for 4-4. Wright produced some more stunning finishing with a 120 to make it 5-4.
A miss at double eight again saw Wright assure himself of a point. But Durrant missed a chance of a point missing three at double 20, he got another though as Wright miscounted straying into the double 17 and Durrant wrapped up the draw.
