Durrant replaces Anderson at World Series of Darts Finals

Kyle Anderson has decided to pull out from the World Series of Darts Finals. The PDC has appointed Glen Durrant as his replacement.

Anderson has informed the PDC that he cannot participate due to personal reasons. Durrant was the highest ranked player on the PDC Order of Merit who had not received an invitation yet for the World Series of Darts Finals.

This means that the top 14 of the world rankings will now be present at the event that will be played in Salzburg from September 18-20. Defending champion Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall, Daryl Gurney and James Wade are the eight seeded players.

In addition, twelve wildcards were also handed out. Dimitri van den Bergh has received an invitation. The Belgian stunned the darting world as he claimed the victory at the World Matchplay in July. Fallon Sherrock will also travel to Austria. The Queen of the Palace made history during the last PDC World Darts Championship as she became the first woman to win a match at this event.

There are still four places available for this event. Those spots will be on offer during a qualifying tournament ahead of the PDC Autumn Series in Hildesheim.
