England avoid doubles decider with victory over South Africa to reach World Cup of Darts Quarter-Finals

England are the latest country through to the Quarter-Finals of the World Cup of Darts after a double singles success with once again no need for the pairs decider.

First up, it was James Wade who faced off against Carl Gabriel who said playing a singles match on the big stage was a dream but the result went the way of 'The Machine' who added the first point for England.

A 4-1 success for Wade who punished Gabriel's missed darts at doubles which stood at 1/7 to move through with two 180's, a 90 average and 4/7 from the UK Open champion.

It was all or nothing for South Africa in the requisite singles tie as Dave Chisnall faced off against Devon Petersen and it was England who moved through without the need for a pairs decider.

Chisnall won through 4-2 in the end after going 3-1 up initially following Petersen missing the chance to level. The St Helens ace broke throw on double 10 and moved England to within a leg.

Petersen broke straight back with a 96 checkout to give South Africa some hope but it was little more as Chisnall pinned double 20 with Petersen waiting on 32.
