Nathan Aspinall, Michael van Gerwen, Wessel Nijman will remain in contention this evening while Premier League leader Jonny Clayton has been swept aside by German home hero Martin Schindler. Gerwyn Price has also moved through at the European Darts Grand Prix.
To that game first as Schindler eased past Clayton who has been utterly fantastic as of late but found himself on the end of a thrashing 6-1. He went 3-0 up in double quick time as he broke on double 10 and again for a 12-darter on double eight.
A 4-0 lead on double 20 and he broke following that with a 74 checkout. Clayton broke back with Schindler unable to hit 131. Clayton hit 64 to go 5-1 down and he was throwing for 5-2. But that was soon thwarted as Clayton was broken. Schindler was sublime and went 180, 180 and instead of a nine-darter, it was 20, bull, treble 13 before pinning double 16 first time for a 10-darter. Fantastic from The Wall.
Gerwyn Price has sealed victory too edging past Chris Dobey with a 106 average. Price led 3-1 here against Chris Dobey with a rip roaring start. He hit 85 to hold with an 11-darter. Price couldn't pin 98 and Dobey came back on double four to make it 3-2 and hold.
A last dart double five for Price who made it 4-2. Price couldn't break but Dobey couldn't hold and The Iceman held on double 10 for 5-2. A 97 checkout from Dobey saw him break for 5-3 down with Price on the verge of victory. A 72 checkout from Dobey saw him go 5-4 up. Dobey was handed a chance to break again with a 78 checkout and Price was finally back for 6-4. He wins with a 105 average.

Nijman, Ross Smith and Van Gerwen through

Also fantastic was Wessel Nijman who has to be one of the favourites for the title now. He has seen off Stephen Bunting 6-3 as another Premier League star bites the dust. Bunting levelled early in the script with an 87 checkout at 1-1. But Nijman held on double four for 2-1 and then broke on double 18 for 3-1.
A hold followed for Nijman on double 12 who moved halfway to victory. Bunting though hit back and broke for 4-3 down hitting double four. But Bunting was broken back as Nijman was then throwing for it pinning 89 for the win.

Wessel Nijman continues his rampant form.
Josh Rock is another Premier League name to go down as he was defeated by Ross Smith 6-5. Rock was 2-1 up early on Ross Smith. He pinned double 18 for a hold to lead. Smith followed that up with a break on double three to surge ahead 3-2. An 11-darter from Smith to consolidate saw him go 4-2 up.
A 108 checkout saw him go one away and he was throwing for it but Rock broke back at the death and turned the tables only for double four to do the business as Smith sealed the win.

At least Michael van Gerwen could do the business albeit he did it the hard way. He saw off Jermaine Wattimena. It was breaks to start albeit with double five from Wattimena followed by double 20 seeing him lead 2-1. He took that impetus to hold from there. It was 3-3 locked in at parity. But Wattimena went 4-3 up.
Wattimena went 5-4 up on double four but Van Gerwen pinned double two and we went to a decider which MVG took. Wattimena missed the second double 20 for a 100 checkout and Van Gerwen after missing 96 was back for double four to win it.
Nathan Aspinall (3)
Nathan Aspinall also through.
Also through is Nathan Aspinall who saw off James Wade. Aspinall was 2-0 up on Wade. He has hit a 44 checkout to break and backed that up with 80 to hold to double his lead. A 90 checkout for Aspinall for a 12-darter and he was rampant as he went 4-1 up and was throwing for a 5-1 lead here. Wade broke back for 4-2 down with a 62 checkout. But Aspinall surged with an 87 checkout for 5-3 up and then wins with a 150 checkout.
While Danny Noppert took down Niko Springer 6-4 and Krzysztof Ratajski is also through after seeing off Joe Cullen 6-2 in the opening two games of the session.
