We head back to Minehead for the first PDC major of the season. For the first time, all 128 Tour Card holders take part. They're joined by the top 16 from the 2018 Challenge Tour who did not already have a Tour Card. As per usual there's an amateur element - 16 Riley's qualifiers are competing for UK Open glory.
Play begins on Friday 1 March with the first, second and third rounds played in the opening session. The first match ITV4 will be broadcasting live from the Main Stage is 2018 semi-finalist David Pallett taking on former BDO world finalist, and debutant, Mark McGeeney. Other day one highlights include Glen Durrant vs Daniel Day or Maik Kuivenhoven, Luke Humphries' clash with Vincent van der Voort, and Toni Alcinas coming up against Nathan Aspinall.
The fourth round takes place on the first evening of the tournament. The top seeds enter at that stage, including defending champion Gary Anderson, who returns from injury. With a random draw, there is no telling what fixtures will be thrown up.
The fifth and sixth rounds are played on Saturday 2 March, with the quarter-finals on the afternoon of Sunday 3 March. On the Sunday evening, the semi-finals and final are played, and the 2019 UK Open champion will be crowned.
